10. The Lizard
The students’ investigation of The Lizard focuses, justifiably, on the capacity to regrow limbs.
They reason that human limb regeneration may very well be conceivable because we have the genes for it. We simply require something to activate them like maybe some sort of an exceptional serum.
However, as per students’ estimations, this would take a very long time, with a development rate of around 0.1 to 0.4 mm/day. At that rate it would take around 18 months to regrow the arm underneath the elbow, which is disappointing.
9. Ice Man
Students took a look at the components that could be behind Iceman’s capacity to haul ice out of nowhere. They propose that he can create a sort of natural refrigerant that can be packed in the body and coordinated through vein-like channels. This then draws heat energy from the environment as it extends and causes water vapor in the atmosphere to freeze.
However, energy can’t be made or demolished, thus Iceman would need to get his refrigeration energy from some place with a goal to naturally create it. Students calculated that Iceman would need to chow down on 10,000 kilocalories to deliver only 1kg of ice – that is four times the sum required for the normal man.
