3. The Son
This portion of the episode is the one that overwhelmed everybody and had Rick coming down to his knees. Evidently, getting the axe wasn’t sufficient to show to Negan that Rick comprehended the new request of things, so he gives Rick another order.
He gives Rick the axe, ties his son, Carl, and orders him to slash off his hand. When Rick can’t, Negan proclaims that, if he doesn’t do it, everybody from his group will be slaughtered and Carl will be shot too.
The axe is raised into the air. Thereafter, Negan stops Rick and lets Carl go. In any case, at the end of the day, there’s been a ton of psychological harm done to Rick.
2. The Captive
Inevitably Negan orders his men to pack up and leaves the group broken on the ground.
However, he chooses to take Daryl with him as a prisoner. He claims to like Daryl’s rebel character and tells Rick that, should he attempt to betray him, he will bring Daryl back in pieces. As though Rick wasn’t sufficiently terrified, he’s now lost his right-hand man and one wrong move could have him murdered.
