12 Things about Gal Gadot– Presenting the New ‘Wonder Woman’

11. Not Aware that Audition was For Wonder Woman Role!

To prevent unwanted leaks, secrecy and security are super tight when it comes to big Hollywood blockbuster movies. And it the movie happens to be based on iconic and most beloved comic books’ characters then security is going to tighten manifold. The veil of secrecy around Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was apparently so tight that even those auditioning for some of the roles did not know what they were auditioning for. You heard it right; Gal Gadot didn’t initially know she was auditioning for the part of Wonder Woman.
At first, she had assumed that it she was up for a part in some Zack Snyder movie which means potentially big but when she got to know actually how big, she was blown away. Till the initial audition, she was under that impression. Later, Snyder called her back for a screen test for co-star Ben Affleck and asked if she knew who Wonder Woman was. It was only that moment that it dawned on her that she was in real contention to play one of the most iconic characters ever.
Somehow, she managed to maintain her composure. She did confess that it took a great deal of it to remain calm on phone.

12. Solo Movie Wonder Woman Will Be Different from her Future Self in BvS

DC Cinematic Universe’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice marks our first meeting with Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman. By this time she is very old, although she appears very young (she is a demi god after all). By this time, she has had the benefit of having lived in the human world for decades, dealing with our messes. However, the actions in 2017’s Wonder Woman are set several decades before the incidents of BvS. To be precise, the actions is set during the first World War In it, she will not be experience yet. Gadot speaks about her character and the movie –
“Wonder Woman is different from the woman you see in BvS. She’s more naive, and pure, and she’s this young idealist who does not understand the complexities of men in life. Whereas in BvS, she’s super. She’s very experienced. It’s been such an amazing, creative process.”
In regards to the ways and the world of humans, she is still somewhat naïve. Up to the point of her introduction to the human world, she’s spent her whole life on Themyscira, the home of the Amazons. Her first encounter with humans will show her both the goodness and evil that we are capable of. This will make it an interesting and challenging role for Gal Gadot after the version she played in BvS.
