The dust has not even settled from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but it seems fans will get a glimpse of Solo sooner rather than later.
The Last Jedi just hit theaters a few weeks ago, but fans know it doesn’t take long for studios to tease their next big thing, and for Star Wars that means the Han Solo spin-off film. According to Cinelinx and Star Wars artist Jordan Maison, the trailer could drop very soon.
“Welp…we’ll definitely be seeing some #Solo stuff within the next 2-3 weeks. #StarWars”. Maison would follow that up quickly, saying it might drop even sooner. “Actually, probably sooner. Like coming up pretty quick. #Solo #StarWars.”
Solo’s been a bit rocky for Disney, with original directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ousted from the project after they had already spent quite a bit of time working on it. Ron Howard was brought in to take over the film and ended up spending about the same amount of time in total with principal photography and reshoots.
As it stands, fans are quite interested to see what the finished project looks like, as Justice League suffered from similar issues during development and got a bit roasted by critics because of it.
Not much is known about Solo, but Paul Bettany did reveal a few details about the tone.
“It’s Han Solo’s story, and of course his story would be a caper,” Bettany told Total Film. “On one level it’s a gangster movie. That’s really interesting because it’s within the canon but really different. It’s f*cking Han Solo!”
Solo: A Star Wars Story currently has a 3.76 out of 5 on ComicBook.com’s anticipation rankings, which you can vote in here.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is in theaters May 25, 2018.
